Originally a container house concept, site constraints pushed the method to a more conventional but still faster steel construction whilst retaining the original form of the house. Container blocks were mixed and matched to address client’s lifestyle and user programming. These same blocks are pushed and cantilevered at key points to add visual interest to the overall structure and add protection at the ground level from the elements.

The house sits at the center of the property surrounded by a continuous porch that links all the public areas of the house which in turn is enveloped by the landsacpe on all sides.

A special carport structure sits on the side that showcases the client’s vintage car collections. This structure emulates the main house so the two structures work harmoniously together.
