HOUSE 397

Quezon City

This house explores programming and form to be able to house one family in three different units. Each level houses each unit but through the creation of volumes by slicing the mass, these units are unrecognizable, giving the whole structure a cohesive facade. The main circulation is an open atrium stairway wherein users can get into their respective units with utmost privacy. The roof deck becomes the gathering place for the whole family which is accessed through the same core.

Board formed concrete especially dominant through the eaves give the slices an edgier and lighter feel. It helps break the composition into smaller volumes bringing the structure down to better proportions amidst its full height.
