HYBRIDS 2.0 - CARDBOARD. UP COLLEGE of Architecture.
Design computation workshop handled in UPCA since 2015 that integrates spatial explorations through digital parametric software and physical material experimentations to produce 1:1 architectural installations.
The 3D model was made of 3 millimeter thick corrugated cardboard. Other materials used are 50m long nylon string, metal eyelets, and other cutting materials. The participants designed and constructed a floating installation at UPCA Building 1 Atrium as a center piece for the UPCA College Graduation 2016. The advanced 3D modeling program used was Rhinoceros to help generate the 3D model. A Grasshopper Waffle script was used to rationalize the 3D model into an actual physical output.
