HYBRIDS 5.0 - bamboo. UP COLLEGE of Architecture.

Design computation workshop handled in UPCA since 2015 that integrates spatial explorations through digital parametric software and physical material experimentations to produce 1:1 architectural installations.

The installation is made of bamboo and plastic straws as ties.. The whole process took 7 days to complete, from conception to construction. The participants designed and constructed a skeletal portal in front of the UPCA Auditorium using paraboloid as the main driver of form. The advanced 3D modeling program used was Rhinoceros to help generate the 3D model. A Grasshopper script was used to rationalize the 3D model into an actual physical output.
