HYBRIDS 3.0 - wood. UP COLLEGE of Architecture.

Design computation workshop handled in UPCA since 2015 that integrates spatial explorations through digital parametric software and physical material experimentations to produce 1:1 architectural installations.

The installation is made of thin wood planks with sawn notches to slot in the sections together. The participants designed and constructed a free standing interactive gateway towards UPCA Building 1 using a 2 way grid axis system of interlocking wood slats. The advanced 3D modeling program used was Rhinoceros to help generate the 3D model. A Grasshopper script was used to rationalize the 3D model into an actual physical output.
