Top 5 for Anthology x Lotus Design Competition 2019

Our proposal is a critique of the events place typology, which places huge structures on surface level, creating a cage of private activities, thereby missing the opportunity for a more spontaneous public engagement.

.

Tangway creates a porous surface level by submerging the building mass and creating fluid connectors from the ground towards the deck of the pavilion. This strategy reclaims the public realm over a private structure without disturbing the different functions. The landmark structure of this development is not a typical huge building, but a light, floating roof that creates an artificial canopy over the park to attract activities throughout the day.
